HelpAlliance - Lufthanseaten engagieren sich

Who we are

The HelpAlliance Team

HelpAlliance was founded in 1999 by staff members from all parts of the Lufthansa Group. It is a voluntary, non-denominational, politically independent organisation.

At present HelpAlliance members oversee about a dozen projects worldwide. They include start-ups, educational establishments, orphanages, projects to support street children and bush hospitals.

When a disaster strikes, we always try to help wherever possible. We did so after the severe flooding in Mozambique in early 2000, the flood disaster in Dresden and surrounding area in the summer of 2002, the earthquake in Gujarat, India in January 2001 and the earthquake in Bam, Iran in December 2003. We are currently involved in various projects in Southeast Asia, in those countries that were affected by the tsunami disaster in December 2004.

Lufthansa staff members are personally responsible for ensuring that donations are used correctly, and that the money reaches those affected by the disaster in full. On the spot they are supported by competent partners.
