iThemba – Opening of the pre-school in Philippi/Capetown
Everyone keenly awaited the opening of the English-speaking pre-school in Philippi. Children and guests alike enjoyed the festive event.
Lessons have been running for months in order to give children sufficient time to prepare for the start of school, but the poor weather conditions would have certainly put a damper on the festivities.
Now, on this beautiful spring day, children played outside in the bouncy castle while grown-ups were listening to speeches.
HelpAlliance has supported this very successful project since spring. It now offers lessons for 26 children, instead of the originally planned 20.
According to the pre-school supervisor Nadia Lubowski, 80 children are currently on a waiting-list.
The cooperation with our Lufthansa Call Centre colleagues has proved to be very fruitful throughout this process, and HelpAlliance is hoping to provide further financial support for the future expansion of the pre-school.
