A compressor for Mali

Lufthansa Cargo, DB Schenker and Bilfinger Berger support HelpAlliance
Just two weeks ago a mayday call came in at the HelpAlliance office. The well building project had suddenly come to a halt. The compressor utilised in the Help Alliance well building project in Mali had irreparably broken down and there was no way of getting a replacement unit all over Mali. The people there were running out of time since the rainy season was ahead.
However, a solution to the problem was found on short call. Klaus Dreyer, responsible for new construction projects at Lufthansa, reacted spontanously to the HelpAlliance call for help and took advantage of his existing contacts. Thus the Mannheim construction group Bilfinger Berger offered to donate a compressor. Lufthansa Cargo and DB Schenker took over the logistics – starting from the safe packaging up to the free-of-charge transport to Dakar.
On May 18 the compressor was handed over to the project head and the Chairwoman of HelpAlliance by Mr Müller, Bilfinger Berger, and Klaus Dreyer, Lufthansa, and was transported to Dakar the very next day.

Due to this unbureaucratical and immediate help the well building project in Dioundiourou can be continued in time before the start of the rainy season. Thus the children will be able soon to make use of the badly needed water coming out of the well.
