Kinder Paradise Ghana
Accra – Ghana
Akwaaba – welcome to Kinder Paradise Ghana. “To learn for a better life“ is the main issue of this institution which has set itself the target to relieve the distress of street children and orphans in Accra.

Kinder Paradise is a non-profit association and cares for a total of 128 children and teenagers who used to live on the streets or whose lives were at risk due to certain circumstances. In addition, Kinder Paradise is an open day care center for street children located downtown Accra.
66 smaller children are accommodated in an own housing area in Prampram just outside Accra. The institution´s own school (starting from Kindergarten up to 9th Grade) is attended by 215 children, partly coming from the neighborhood and for whom their parents pay school fees, if they can afford it.
The educational training shall contribute to the improvement of the lack of governmental institutions and measures.
The teenagers are living in two houses (boys and girls separately) at the outskirts of Accra, from where they can easily reach their public schools. Some of them have already started with their professional training.
Just lately the school authority of Ghana has requested ICT (Information Computer Technology) to be a major feature of the curriculum. With the assistance of HelpAlliance the computer lab was equipped with PCs and thus it was possible for the children to work on more complex subjects and study material on screen.
The construction of a kindergarten began at the end of 2008, when a complete LH flight crew took part in the official ceremony of the laying of the foundation stone. On this occasion the German ambassador awarded the local project manager, Mrs. Silke Roesner, with the Bundesverdienstkreuz (Federal Cross of Merit). In April 2009 the completion of the building was celebrated enthusiastically by its new owners.
