Nice View Children Village – Leading the way from kindergarten to qualification

Msambweni – Kenia

Children stay at the Nice View Children Village up to the age of eighteen. In a family-like community and in educational institutions which are part of the village they are being prepared for an independent working and family life. HelpAlliance supports the involvement of a Lufthansa colleague of Lufthansa Corporate College.

For over 10 years „Schwarz-Weiss e.V.” (Black-White, registered aid organization) has been involved in caring for children near Mombasa, since the founders of the association saw the misery and distress the youngsters had to endure there. After construction of the Nice View children’s village, 36 orphans from the region of Msambweni found a new home during the following years. Lufthansa employee Axel Brügemann joins forces with the founders of the association in their effort to improve the educational facilities available at the children’s village which presently include a kindergarten, a Primary School (first up to eighth class) and workshops offering trainings for apprentices.

The facilities can be used by boys and girls from Nice View as well as by children and youngsters from Msambweni. By building the new school „Schwarz-Weiss e.V.” extended its support to the adjoining village. The kindergarten and school capacity is quadrupled and the shortage in the region of Msambweni is reduced substantially. The educational institutions are managed with great professional skill and even more commitment and thus provide for a better social and educational development of the children than the public schools of Kenya.

By supporting the construction of the sanitary building HelpAlliance helps to get the enlarged school off to a quick start in the intended size and assists by improving the educational opportunities for children of the village of Msambweni.
